Audrey Inkamala

Yarrenyty Arltere Artists & Tangentyere Artists

Audrey Inkamala was born in 1974 to a strong lineage of painters. She is the daughter of Maryanne Raggett, an established painter at Tangentyere Artists and the granddaughter of renowned Daisy Nakamarra, one of the first women to paint with Papunya Tula Artists. Daisy was taught to paint by Tim Leura Tjapaltjarri, who was a founder of the painting movement at Papunya, knowledge passed on to Audrey.

Audrey usually lives in Kintore with extended family, but given her mother Maryanne lives in Alice Springs, Audrey likes to come and visit. When she does, she sits down with her mother to paint at Tangentyere Artists. Audrey’s work has been shown across Australia and it has been included in the Tarnanthi Art Fair since 2017.
